It was a great evening in Hastings, NE where I attended the Nebraska Children Home Society's Weaving Families Together 8th Annual Event.
The Nebraska Children's Home Society (NCHS) is a non-profit agency that proves an array of children and family programs including pregnancy, parenting, adoption, and post-adoption services, foster care, and in-home services to children and families and early childhood programming.
Upholding adoption as a positive way of growing families continues to be the primary mission of NCHS and it's 116-year tradition of meeting the needs of Nebraska's children. The common goal of the organization is to put the child first.
NCHS is the only agency in the nation that has never charged a fee for adoption for 116 years! I thought this was so amazing. There are so many children out there that need a good, safe home, and sometimes the price of adoption can hinder families from adopting.
The night was full of fun. I was able to take pictures with children of all ages and adults. I signed some autographs and was able to mingle with the families. We then sat down for a great dinner and entertainment from a magician and comedian Gayle Becwar. He was hilarious and did some mind boggling tricks! He has been on HBO's Comic Relief and Showtime's Funniest Man in America Contest.
The night was ended with a live auction, silent auction and words from Karen Authier, NCHS Executive Director.
